Snap Raise Fundraiser

7/19/2026

Parents of the Trojan Band,

Our first week of band camp has came and gone and we are super thrilled with our progress thus far.

Thursday, we introduced our first fundraiser of the year to the kids.  This is called SnapRaise.  SnapRaise has helped the band purchase some of our large ticket items over the last few years.  Each student in the band program benefits from the purchases that have been made from this fundraiser in a large way.

Items purchased from the SnapRaise fundraiser include:
  • The New Marching Band Uniforms ($75,000) - 2018-2020
  • The New Sound System ($15,000) - 2021
  • The New Marching Drumline ($15,000) - 2022
  • 3 New Concert Tubas (13,000) - 2023
  • 2 Vibraphone, 1 Marimba, 1 Glockenspiel, Xylophone (14,000) - 2024
  • 3 New Concert Tubas, 1 Marimba  (17,000) - 2025

The band program utilizes this fundraiser to purchase our large ticket items that are in desperate need of replacement.  SnapRaise has been our go to fundraiser to help with these large projects and we are hoping to continue to be able to use it to help update the equipment for the students in the band program.  Please help us by having your child complete the tasks below.  If you have any questions, our SnapRaise Representative will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  His name is Andy Winters.  You may contact him after you read the following information from SnapRaise if you have any further questions.

Our campaign will not launch until we receive 80% participation from students.  This means that 80% of the band program has entered their emails into the system.  Please help us by helping your student get 20 emails into the system before Thursday, July 23rd.  Our program is scheduled to launch on July 24th, the day after the Parent Preview Show.  As an incentive for the kids to get their emails entered into the system, if we have 80% entered by Thursday, I will cancel the full band rehearsals that are on the band calendar for July 28th and July 30th from 6-9pm.

We trust SnapRaise as it does not sell information to other vendors, has been verified by Hamilton County Schools as the first secure crowdsourcing fundraiser approved for use by the district, will not spam email addresses that are entered (each email address will receive 4 emails only during the course of the campaign and only 1 after a donation is made), and our representatives work hard to make sure that our donors feel safe in the donation process.

Please take time to read the email information below from SnapRaise!!

Hi Soddy Daisy Trojan Band Parents and supporters!

We're kicking off our fundraiser with Snap! Raise, the nation's leading fundraising platform for groups, clubs and teams. For the past five years, Snap! Raise has helped more than 35,000 groups in the U.S. raise more than $400M in funding! I'm excited to get started and have one vital request.

I ask that you help your student identify at least 20 people they will reach out to via Snap! Raise, and gather their email address prior to our program launch on July 28th..

The list of 20 people should include many of your child's biggest fans and needs to be completed in full to ensure our campaign is set up for success. It is my hope and expectation that each student will have a major impact on our program. Here are the next steps:

  • Help your student select at least 20 potential supporters
  • Enter their names and correct email into your student’s SnapRaise Account.
  • Avoid using emails of teachers, peers of your students, or strangers

Here are 20 examples of people your student should consider adding at a minimum.
    1. Parent(s)/Guardian #1
    2. Parent(s)/Guardian #2
    3. Grandma
    4. Grandpa
    5. Cousin(s)
    6. Uncle(s)
    7. Auntie(s)
    8. Family doctor
    9. Orthodontist/dentist
    10. Church/Social leader
    11. Scout/troop leader
    12. Family friend #1
    13. Family friend #2
    14. Former coach
    15. School alumni
    16. Local businesses that know you
    17. Neighbor(s)
    18. Parent co-worker(s)
    19. Friend of parent
    20. Adult sibling(s)
Thank you for all of your continued support of our program!

  • All about Safety and Security
Snap! Raise takes data security seriously and protecting your information is our highest priority. While we can't speak for the other guys, we comply with all federal guidelines and regulations to ensure that you, your donors, and your organization is protected from fraud and fund mismanagement. This is why before any campaign begins, we require KYC to guarantee financial transparency and security. So what does that all mean exactly?

  • KYC, the CDD Rule, and You
Let's start with KYC or Know Your Customer. KYC is a federally mandated regulation under the Customer Due Diligence Rule (CDD) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) that requires all U.S. banks to gather information to verify that you—the group leader or coach—are authorized to fundraise for your affiliated organization. This identity confirmation is necessary to prevent fraudulent fundraising. By following KYC, U.S. banks can safely create a secure, temporary bank account--also known as a Merchant Account--so that you or your organization can clearly and easily track, monitor, and control your donations straight from the source.

That was a lot of information. Let's break it down.
Requiring KYC allows both the government and Snap! Raise to guarantee financial transparency and security once we are able to confirm that you are authorized to fundraise on behalf of your organization. This means:
