Background Check Instructions

All parents wishing to chaperone any band function who will be alone with students at any time must have a background check.  This is per Hamilton County School Board Policy that was passed in 2016.

If completing a background check for the first time for our system or renewing a background check because your 3 year window has expired, please do so after July 1st.

Fingerprint instructions and Volunteer Request Form are below.  Please read the Volunteer Fingerprint Registration form carefully and follow it's instructions to schedule a Fingerprinting session and to complete the Background Check.  School Worker Volunteer  is the Transaction Type and State Schools/Colleges is the Agency ID.  
 
DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE HICKORY VALLEY LOCATION!!!  THE SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO BACKGROUND CHECKS.
Below you can click to access Chaperone forms.  All  forms must be submitted online after you have completed your background check. If you are a Hamilton County Department of Education employee and have had a recent background check, you must still fill out these forms.  There are step-by-step directions on how to submit the Waiver form and Volunteer form.  
Once you have completed the online portions of the background check, please let Mr. Light know in the band office so he can make sure your name is on the Volunteer Spreadsheet.

Both of the steps below must be completed.
