Disney Trip Information 2024

To make a payment toward the 2024 Disney Trip, please send cash or check (Made out to SDHS Band Boosters) to the band room in an envelope with your child's name on it.  They can place it in the payment box at the bottom of the stairs to the band office.

2024 DISNEY TRIP INFORMATION

• REMEMBER THAT THIS TRIP IS OPTIONAL.  I was approached by several people asking for a trip since we haven't traveled with the band program since before Covid.  I decided an optional trip was the best way to make this happen.
• Student total cost is $1009.  This is based on 70 people traveling.  Costs will be adjusted following the first payment to reflect the number of people traveling.
• Chaperone/Parent total cost - see Trip Information in Documents section.  Costs will be adjusted following the first payment to reflect the number of people traveling.
• Please make sure that your band fees for the 2023 season and any past seasons are paid in full (or you are caught up on payments if paying monthly) before making Disney payments.  We will verify band fee balances before applying payments to the trip.  If there is an outstanding band fee balance, we will apply any Disney payments to that first before applying it to the trip.
• NO ONLINE PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE DISNEY TRIP.  Credit card payments can be accepted if arrangements are made with the band boosters.  Please contact Angel Rousse for more information.  Transaction percentage fees will apply for credit card payments and cannot be refunded for any reason.

Frequently Asked Questions​

1. Who gets to go?  In order for students to participate in any trip with the Soddy-Daisy Band program, students must be enrolled in band for the entire school year (both semesters).  The only exception to this rule are students that are in Color Guard that do NOT play a band instrument during the second semester.
2. What is the cost?  The cost is estimated to be about $1009.00 per student.  Students and chaperones will have 3 payments over the span of about 5 about months.  All band fees must be paid in full (or on schedule if paying monthly) before any money will be credited toward the trip.
3. What does the cost include?  It includes all transportation fees for the drivers, buses and gas, hotel for 5 nights, breakfast each morning at the hotel, a 4-day WDW Park Non-Hopper Pass, performance fees, celebration dinner at Planet Hollywood, and tour guide for the duration of the trip. 
4. When and where the does the band perform?  We will perform in a Disney Studios Workshop based on acceptance.  Dates, times, and location are all decided by WDW.
5. Who gets to chaperone?  Parents/Legal Guardians of Trojan Band members get to chaperone.  Former students and siblings of students are not allowed to chaperone.  
6. Will students be allowed to walk around WDW by themselves?  Yes and No.  Safety is our #1 priority.  WDW Resort is the same size as San Francisco.  Students will be in groups of 4 or more, and each group will have an adult chaperone they must check in with while in the parks.  They will be allowed to go around the parks without their chaperone, but must check-in with the chaperones at specified times throughout the day.  ​
7. Will there be a nurse on the trip to help with medicines and emergencies?  Yes.  We will have a band parent/HCS employee that is a Doctor/Registered Nurse.
